Question crunchy leaves !!!!

I need some advice as far as getting to my stand quietly this time of year. the leaves have fallen and they are dry and crunchy and I have a good walk to my stand. I have good luck seeing deer earlier in the year and I know this is the best time of year for me to be there but I get so frustrated getting to my stand making noise andd then I lose my confidence and feel like leaving because I think I have wrecked the night. I have tried walking slowly, still hunting my way there and it stilll seems not to be good enough. I hunt a huge chunk of woods that is 1 mile wide by about 7 miles long and i think once they hear me they move to another part of the woods being there is so much room. but all the sign is the there and I am just hoping for a new tip or trick to make me more successful in the field. any good tips will be greatly appreciated.
