Playin the MOON
I just started Bow HUnting Have hunted for years with rifle. Ive never paid much attention to weather or wind or really anything else when it came to hunting just figured I ALWAYS had a better chance in the stand than on the couch so when I wanted to hunt I went hunting. Getting into Bow hunting ive heard so much about wind that It gets me wondering. I am planning to hunt this weekend. Saturday. Full Moon in on the 29th Monday. How will this affect the deer. How does the moon play in to deer hunting?

from a lot I have read & take with a grain of salt but there has been research on it next week will be great hunting If I am correct this will be the second Full moon after the FALL EQUINOX
suppossedly there is Scientific research that has found that the second full moon after the fall equinox starts the rutting season in central and northern states
All in all the full moon is supposed to be the best time to hunt
I have seen it good and bad

I travel to hunt and have never considered the moon as a reason to stay home or indoors. I know many trophy hunters will scream at me for that but I hunt the pre-rut and rut with a bow and with-in a couple of days it hits the same time year after year regardless of what the moon is doing. I prefer a misty morning vs anything else. I don't like a full moon but hunt anyways. Wind, it is what it is.

best I can tell ya about the moon is if it is a full or brite moon most times the deer will feed later thru the night. And dont really start seeing much movement until later in the morning.Best thing is to sit in stand while everbody else leaves for lunch.
