Season starts this Saturday 10/6/12. Clothes washed and bagged, tree stand outside airing out, archery tackle box organized, boots waterproofed, new knife sharpened, misc. gear packed and ready. Hopefully the wife is ready for the "archery monster" that shows up this time every year. Anyone else's season starting this Saturday? May not be able to sleep come Friday night.

i hunt in Virginia too. i couldnt sleep at all friday night due to the anticipation. then when dark on saturday rolled around i was a little dissapointed. where i hunt was extremely windy and even rained on me which is probably why the only two deer i saw were in a bottom about 150 yards away... did you have any luck?

Saw 11 while on stand, 3 bucks, 8 does. They never got right, all within about 50 yards. Hunted on a military base, public land.

wow you had a lot better luck than i did. i have heard about the military bases and some of the nice deer they can produce. i hunt a lease in montgomery county and a little in floyd county but most of the pictures im getting in my stand locations are from night time so im having to try and wait them out until the last light. had a decent 8 pointer come through last night but he was not ready to take yet. hopefully the big boy i got pictures of will come by soon.
