Well welcome officially. Minnesota is a state I would love to visit someday- I have always wanted to go there. The furthest north I have ever been is South Dakota and I loved it there. Went there for a training when I was in the Army.
I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior when I was 11 years old. I remember I had a lot of questions about heaven and about God's love for me. But one thing stuck in my mind and that was the fact that Jesus came to earth, died on the cross for ME and He rose again after 3 days to ascend back to heaven and to someday return to earth to call His people home. I too have not always been the prototypical christian, but I have always known that I was saved. I went through a a rough spell from age 18-24ish... Did a lot of dumb things and tried many behaviors to "fit in" with the crowd. When I met my wife at at 25 I realized, fitting in is not important. A relationship with Christ IS. Now I spend my days not caring what other people think about me and I try to be someone others can rely on. I do not ever want to push my beliefs onto another person, but I am open to discuss any topic. I often get into debates with people, and I try my best to keep them respectable and kind. After all, as Christians, the only thing God wants us to do is plant a seed, He'll do the rest. Sometimes people we talk to are ready to accept and sometimes they are not. And sadly, sometimes they never will. But at least you tried and you planted the seed. I pray daily for everyone on this website- I think there are many of you who do not know this, but I do. I treat this club as sort of a family and I think you, truegrit, will learn quickly that all the guys and gals on there are great to get along with. Yes we have our differences and yes we sometimes have to respectfully disagree, but we always leave feeling good about our time here at DHC.
Stick around, you will grow to love it here and like you, I too enjoy the opportunity of having the Christian Corner to express my views and angles on our society today and my beliefs as a Christian. I too believe not only our country, but our world is heading in the wrong direction. I can say, though, that God is at work. He has not given up on our nation and I do not believe He will. To get our nation back to the way it should be will take one of two things... 1. Christians standing up for what they believe in OR 2. Jesus Himself coming back to earth. Now, both of these excite me, but I have to admit, being alive in this body when Christ comes back to earth would be an experience like NO OTHER!!! How awesome that would be!
Glad to meet you, glad to know you, and have a good night
...and on that day when my strength is failing, the end draws near and my times has come, still my soul will sing Your praise unending, ten thousand years and then forevermore!
