I have Remington Seven CDL in 300 WSM. The Model Seven is no longer made in this caliber, but when is was, Remington smartly built it with a 22 inch barrel. The gun balances and handles wonderfully. It is an exceedingly accurate rifle - I have shot one inch groups with it at 300 yards. The only problem I have had with it is that the original recoil pad "melted" (and not from heat) in my rifle case. Remington replaced the pad no charge. This rifle was made to be a fast handling one. Instead of just cutting down the barrel, the action has been shortened to reduce weight and length without sacrificing bullet speed. Too bad they now only offer it with the twenty inch tube. Your friend has a great rifle!
