I think that they are because it helps overall herd growth and nutrition. Also, not too many people have the time, resources and money to make such a project. I wish I could do that around my area just for the sake of making an easy, nutritious feed for deer. I don't know much about this subject but don't other wild animals benefit off of this too. Just my opinion.
