All you Magnum shooters are tougher that I am
I agree that none of us feel recoil when shooting at an animal. Having said that I for one sure feel it at the shooting bench. I have helped Magnum rifle shooters get their rifles dialed in that were flinching bad from recoil. It hurt to watch their eyes after a while. My Elk guide said the 338 Win Mag was perfect for Elk IF you can shoot it. I am sure that he felt the same way about the Weatherby 340. He said that he would rather have clients show up with a standard rifle they can shoot over a Magnum they can't. He preached a bad hit on a animal is a bad hit even with a Magnum.
