If recoil is your issue consider this..
The faster your rifle pushes the bullet the more it will recoil, simple physics. Going to a heavier bullet will usually kick harder. That is why alot of new shooters are steered to the 7mm-08 shooting a 140gr load. The bullet isn't fast around 2600fps and a 140gr is not heavy for that caliber. Also if you don't like a rifle that kicks steer clear of anything with the term magnum in it. One last thought, the recommendation of the Weatherby Vangard is a good one. It is a nice rifle and heavier than most. Weight in your rifle helps absorb recoil and makes it more tollerable.
