Even though I now use a Browning Medallion in 270 WSM for longer range work, for everything else I use a Remington Model 742 Woodmaster 30-06 that I bought in the 8th grade - 1974.
Saw a Savage Model 99 in 308 the other day on the rack at the local gun shop.... If it had been in 300 i would have bought it. Would love to own one of those.
