I own a Stevens 200 in .243 it is just as accurate w/hand loads all I use as my $1,200 Rem 700. Great no frills gun for the money cant go wrong with Savage/Stevens. As for the .308 and .270 I own both and can pull just as accurate shots with either. I love the .270 it drops White Tail, Mule Deer, Bear, Caribou, Elk and Pigs w/one well placed shot. I use my .270 99.5% of the time and I own several rifles from .17HRM to 300 Win Mag.
