 Use both slugs and buckshot
I would use both a saboted slug and either 00 buckshot or #4 buckshot, make your first shot the slug. Do you have a smooth bore shotgun, or rifled barrels?
If you have a rifled barrel, the sabot is the best slug, it increases your accuracy, the buckshot is best if you have to make a second follow up shot, and it spreads like regular shotshells.
