Dean,

My recommendation for you is to shoot the bow and then ask yourself: Does it shoot well? Does it feel comfortable? Does is feel balanced? Would I be happy with this bow for the next several years? If you can honestly answer yes to these questions, then make the purchase. Don't get lured into something just because of the brand. It needs to be the right fit for you!

I own a Fred Bear Element that I shot against a Bowtech. IMO, the Element had a better feel, was quiter, and was actually faster by 10 fps than that same year Bowtech. I'm very happy with my Element, and can see myself being a Fred Bear customer for life. I think they make quality bows for a great value.
