on the last day we take all the left overs from previous meals and make "trailor breakfast" (our camp is a trailor) on the last morning we are there to clean out til next year lol.
im always the cook. i think thats the only tradition that hasn't changed since we were camping when we were still in high school. supper was always what we called hobo stew. i brought a bunch a different veggies of whatever we could get, brown me some meat, threw it all in a pot and cooked over a fire. we would eat out of it all day and usually for breakfast the next morning. on occasion i would actually take some breakfast stuff.. one time i tried cooking canned biscuits wrapped in aluminum foil on a grate over the fire. it didn't worked by no means the way they do in the oven but they tasted the same and went good with the bacon and sausage.
i know that man. i was just saying if you live close enough and want to swing by next time im cooking up some hobo stew. feel free to come talk hunting around the campfire while your chowin down
Ha ha our tradition is whoever is the newest in the club has to be the one to clean out the out house at the start of the season! They also are called camp meat for awhile.. Not found anyone that likes the name well or the outhouse
In our camp the night before the opener everybody goes down to the "Good Ole Days" bar and grill for dinner and Saturday night we go down to my Aunts sisters place for lasagna.
I have my own tradition too, I like to grow my beard out. More because it keeps my face warm and this year I may keep it all winter. It gets cold here in Wisconsin.
thanks for the offer buckfever, its a shame im here in maine and all the good food is being cooked up in wisconsin!
(i think thats where you said you live anyway...)
