Here is what I dont understand. 2 qoutes from the above articles.
Its almost contradicting what the Wildlife Commission said.
In one statement.. "Game commission officials say the bear was harvested legally. They also stated that Lewis was doing wrong by feeding the bear."
Another statement. "Leroy Lewis stood in the doorway of his tiny mobile home in Bushkill on Monday evening and wept as a Pennsylvania Game Commission officer told him his beloved bear, Bozo, had been shot by a hunter.""Game commission officials say the bear was harvested legally. They also stated that Lewis was doing wrong by feeding the bear."
Just curious. They had to know the guy viewed it as a pet. They showed up at his door to tell him like he lost a family member. Seems odd to me that they would let it continue. Maybe they told him to stop, that he could end up getting it killed by taming it etc. (I dunno)
Congrats to the hunter. I hope he doesnt let it bother him to much. He had no idea this guy had been hand feeding it for years.
