I don't believe your nose carries anywhere near the bacteria of your mouth.
BTW, I don't believe the smell of cigarettes(smoke), smokeless tobacco, or alchohol will really effect deer. I believe its the movement of smoking and the movement of spitting that would catch the deer's eyes before the smell would startle them.
Everyone gives more credit than a deer deserves for their intelligence! | Whitetail_Ent, Thank you, Quitting smoking was very tough. Now about bashing you. I didn't, I was only responding to what you posted and I comprehend it very well.
Deer aren't stupid and If anything, I think we tend to disregard their actual Intelligence and try to believe we can easily outsmart them, History has already proven we can outsmart them but not easily....
Buckfever probably felt like he was being bashed about the smokeless tobacco, He openly admits he's addicted to it but he doesn't try to deny it's affects on his hunts He didn't need me reminding him of it. He know's what he's up against but other hunters may not know that it's affecting their hunts..
NOW after looking back I noticed I didnt' even address the GUM Question. Totally forgot...
GUM probably does help fight bad breath But GUM also has a nice strong Minty smell SO the bottom line with Gum is don't use it in the woods.
IF you think you have bad (deer alarming) breath, gargle with Listerine after breakfast and brush well before heading into your hunting spot.
Good Luck
