i was thinking of maybe using a 303 enfield (british)for my deer hunting trip to new brunswick, could someone recommend a good size grain for the ammo, there are alot of choices and i need something that will drop a deer at about 300 yards (fields everywhere),any thoughts in general about the Enfield would be apreciated as well, thanks
I have owned 3- 303 Britishes and they are a great rifle, I always use the 180 grain round nose slugs, and have dropped deer out to 300 yards no problem. The elevator sites lowest setting is 200 meters, so either raise it up, or aim for the ridge pole. If you have a scope you will have to site in for the yardage that you plan on shooting.
