Welcome to the forum, glad to have you. I'm a little experienced with the black bear and from what I've learned is that when you bait bears for hunting purposes you need to make sure that your bait stash gets hit for at least 2 days/nights in a row. Then keep the bait well stocked up for maybe 2-3 more days, then hunt it hard. I feel that the bear in your case is taking advantage of a well stocked food supply and will keep hitting it until it stops being an easy food source. Try removing all food and traces (crumbs etc.) for at least 1 week if possible that way the bear should move off and lose interest in that area. I'm trying to contact my friend who hunts these animals and knows an incredible amount about the feeding, breeding and hibernation patterns of black bears. Hopefully he'll join the forum too.
