Guess I'd have to say that my favorite (as of last season) is the Remington 6mm/.244 that I inherited from my grandfather. It's semi-auto for a second shot if/when needed. Last season, the second shot wasn't needed. Even at 50+ yrs old, it's still a one-shot/one-kill rifle. With a muzzle velocity of 3100 fps and almost 1800 ft/lbs of energy at 100 yds, what's NOT to like about the round. The rifle is not exactly lightweight, but it's perfect for deer hunting here on the property. Lighter rounds would be great for smaller varmints, but the 100 grain Core-Lokts are good for deer, hogs, and/or other like game.
