I was at the bow range yesterday which is also a check station, a guy checked in a nice 11 pt.,its neck was all swelled up and lookin good.I got that warm fuzzy feelin, come on weekendickle:
Here I've seen about 4 or 5 deer laying on the side of the road (hit by cars) but the bucks are just, just starting to trail the does...seems like the young bucks (1 1/2 to 3 1/2 yrs. old) are more interested than the bigger older bucks...
That's normal for the younger bucks to take interest before the older wiser bucks.
Young bucks can and do breed doe's but when the time comes by virtue of their age and body size
the older more mature bucks take over and end up tending to the girls.
I'm in SW Wisconsin. They are just starting to run now. The young bucks were moving pretty good this weekend. Never saw any really moving though. The does haven't come into estrus yet. Probably this next week. Should be a week or so ahead of your area.
