Hey, FloridaBuckBuster,
Ronn just got me thinking - you might want to consider the .280 Rem. I hunted elk, deer and antelope with this gun exclusively for about 16 years and it does it ALL! It's very flat shooting, (I've killed antelope at over 340 yards with it), packs a great punch (have knocked bull elk right off their feet with it - at about 300+ yards, it has moderate recoil (less than the '06). It's just the greatest do-it-all-gun going. Drawbacks - only one I can think of is that you won't get the usual Wal-Mart or discount store ammunition prices if they carry it at all. I don't use that rifle much right now, because I'm fooling around with some short magnums mostly out of curiosoty and not need. Anyway, good luck whatever you choose.
