that is a good question my opinion is this
there are so many variables
#1 is distance deer seem to "jump" the string the further the shot is but they will react at all distances you just may not notice it at close range
the only thing that can come close to compensating for noise is speed
& there are issues with very fast shooting bows also
They are usually not fun to shoot & they are also usually not as forgiving
due to my draw length I will never see close to a bows rating so I look for a quiet shooting bow
so how loud is too loud you will know when the deer reacts to it
when shooting with a shotgun or Muzzleloader you are talking a bullet traveling at thousands of feet per second shooting a bow you are talking mid 200 to mid 300 feet per second with a firearm the deer is hit before it hears the noise
