I don't really have any plans for a feeder, but whatever you do, save yourself lots of problems and try to fabricate it out of some kind of metal. And if you can, suspend it with cables. I bought a plastic feeder, and in about 2 weeks 2 bears knocked it over (one was a bear cub, and he knocked over 200 lbs no problem) and squirrels made swiss cheese out of the lid. So I would think pvc would hold up just a bit longer, but not a whole lot. I don't know if you are in cold temps or not, but I have seen pvc crack pretty quickly when it gets cold enough.
